Erica Hill, the talking head who has jumped around from more news programs than a bored prime-time channel surfer, has officially found a new home on NBC's Today show. She will become the newest co-anchor of the weekend version of the daily morning broadcast.
Hill first came to the national spotlight on CNN's Headline News channel. She managed to work that into a spot on network TV when she became the co-host of the weekend edition of CBS's Early Show.
Then, CBS decided to radically shake up The Early Show, and at that point Hill was appointed as the co-anchor of the more lucrative weekday position.
But then, just a matter of months later, CBS shaked up its morning show yet again, and Hill (along with every other member of the CBS Early Show team) was given the boot.
Keep in mind, all of this happened in less than two years. Take a look at your favorite news program and think about how long you've seen those faces. For one person to move around so quickly to so many places is pretty rare.
Now, Hill will be moving from CBS's Upper West Side location in Manhattan to Rockefeller Center, just a few blocks away, to NBC Studios.
Hill will join Lester Holt, Jenna Wolfe, and Dylan Dreyer for the broadcasts. "I couldn’t be happier to have such a strong team in place with Lester, Erica, Jenna and Dylan. We just celebrated 25 years of weekends here at TODAY, and this is the perfect ensemble to lead us towards our next milestone," said Weekend Today executive producer Dee Dee Thomas in a statement.
