Ann Curry will leave Today Show Today

After much back and forth and lots of rumors, Ann Curry came forward with her decision to leave the Today Show. She will tell the viewers of the Today show this morning.

USA Today reports that Ann Curry will announce to leave the Today Show today on air. In a 40-minute phone interview she said: "It's going to be a bit of a tough day. I'm going to have to tell our viewers. That's what makes me more emotional than anything. I don't want to leave them. I love them. And I will really miss them."

Ann Curry co-hosted the NBC Today Show for only one year. Curry is actually staying at NBC. She got a multi-year contract to lead a team of seven to cover big stories for NBC.

The Today show got beaten by ABC's Good Morning America in terms of ratings in April. NBC was on top for an amazing 16 years. NBC needs to find a great new co-host for Matt Lauer to take back the lead in America's morning shows.
