NBC has extended agreement of its “Today” show host Matt Lauer. And Lauer “has agreed to a contract extension to stay on the second-place morning program,” a spokeswoman of NBC announced on Friday.
NBC is owned by Comcast Corp. And Matt Lauer is working for NBC TV News for the past 20 years. Terms of this deal are not yet disclosed.
“I consider this the best job in broadcasting,” Lauer, 56, said in a statement. “I love people I work with every day, and I have such respect and gratitude for the people I work for. I couldn’t be happier to be staying.”
Matt Lauer is one of the highest-paid TV news journalists. He was previously reported to earn $25 million in one year.
