ABC Reveals Women Who Will Compete on New "Bachelor" Season

ABC/Craig Sjodin(NEW YORK) -- ABC's latest "Bachelor," Juan Pablo Galavis, will have 27 women to choose from when the 18th season of the dating competition begins next month.

The network on Wednesday revealed the bachelorettes who will woo the 32-year-old single dad and former pro soccer player from Miami.  Among them: a news reporter, a former NBA dancer, an opera singer, a "dog lover," and a "free spirit."

Galavis, a Venezuelan who is the first non-Caucasian "Bachelor" in series history, competed on the 2013 season of The Bachelorette.  He was rejected by Desiree Hartsock, who ultimately got engaged to Chris Siegfried.

The new season of The Bachelor begins Monday, Jan. 6.  ABC will air a "Countdown to Juan Pablo" special the previous night.
