What to Watch This Weekend: Kerry Handles SNL, Axe Cop Is Back on Duty, Diva Finale and More

Nov 2 2013, 8:40am CDT | by TV Line

On TV this weekend: Scandal‘s Kerry Washington hosts Saturday Night Live, The Mentalist faces off with The Five, Drop Dead Diva‘s finale secret is revealed and Homeland turns the tables. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 15 programs to keep on your radar.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 2

8 pm 2013 Breeder’s Cup (NBC) | The two-day racing event continues from Arcadia, Calif.

8 pm The Preacher’s Mistress (Lifetime) | Sarah Lancaster (Chuck) stars in this telepic as a struggling single mother who unwittingly falls for a married preacher (Friday Night Lights‘ Ed Waters) — and then in true Lifetime fashion, things get much, much worse.

8 pm The Thanksgiving House (Hallmark) | A Boston lawyer (Haven‘s Emily Rose) inherits a house in Plymouth, then learns from a local historian (Justin Bruening) that it may be the site of the first Thanksgiving.

11 pm Animation Domination Hi-Def (Fox) | Fall premiere: After Axe Cop has killed all the bad guys, he and his team must find new jobs. Then, High School USA! is about to lose all of its funding unless the gang can get test scores up.

11:30 pm Saturday Night Live (NBC) | Scandal star Kerry Washington lords over Studio 6H; Eminem performs. (Is SNL best when it’s not live? And many more TV Qs!)

SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 3

PREVIEW | Once Upon a Time : JoAnna Garcia Talks ‘Klepto’ Ariel, Swim Fin Woes (Exclusive Video)
PHOTOS | Once Upon a Time‘s Ariel Makes a Splash/>

8 pm The Simpsons (Fox) | Four Springfielders try to right past regrets following the funeral of a beloved neighbor. Plus, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow and football star Joe Namath guest-voice.

8:30 pm The Amazing Race (CBS) | An intense dispute breaks out at the mat, which I can only assume is about the offensive nickname given to Leo and Jamal. (“Afghanimals”? Really?!)

PREVIEW | The Good Wife EPs on ‘Unbound’ Will, Kalinda’s Loyalties and Alicia’s Breakdown

9 pm Drop Dead Diva (Lifetime) | Season finale: Grayson and Jane finally reveal their feelings for each other, but they’re interrupted by someone who threatens to reveal Jane’s secret. Plus, Grayson represents a dominatrix played by Lost’s Rebecca Mader. (Get scoop.) (Yep, renewed.)

9 pm Boardwalk Empire (HBO) | Nucky refuses to back Chalky in his conflict with Narcisse.

9 pm Revenge (ABC) | Emily does something very uncharacteristic when important people in her life start turning on her. (My guess: She wears something completely unfashionable.)

9 pm Homeland (Showtime) | As Carrie turns the tables, Saul tries to keep an intrusive senator at bay.

9 pm The Walking Dead (AMC) | The supply mission faces hurdles, and the situation at the prison worsens.

RELATED | Scoop on The Mentalist , Once Upon a Time and More via Matt’s Inside Line

10 pm Witches of East End (Lifetime) | Ingrid finds a unique way to mourn for Adam (please, please, no necrophilia), and Freya meets Dash’s ex-fiance.

10 pm Masters of Sex (Showtime) | Libby and Masters visit Miami; Jane helps Virginia debunk a theory.

10:30 pm The Mentalist (CBS) | With the final clue in hand (or as it were, on shoulder), Jane gathers the remaining Red John suspects in one place in hopes of finally revealing his identity.

The campaign launched in February of this year, and took off at last night's 2014 Emmy Awards when Twitter users shared the types of questions they'd like to hear stars answer on the red carpet, tagged w ...

Kerry Washington's Emmy Dress 2014 Proves Orange Really Is The New Black

Aug 25 2014 6:33pm CDT | Source: Huffington Post

Kerry Washington and Olivia Pope are both style icons in their own right. However, it's a good thing that the "Scandal" star doesn't stick to the same white suit of armor like her fictional TV character when it comes to dressing up for the red carpet. Washington, who is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, took our breath away in an orange Prada dress. The sequined seams and peekaboo black detail along the slit are totally unexp ...
