GT/Star Max/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) -- When we think of Tori Spelling, we can’t help but be reminded of that oh-so-glamorous Zip code, 90210.

But these days, Spelling’s life has taken a turn from the glitz and glamour of Beverly Hills.

Tori Spelling did go from quite a lavish lifestyle to a lifestyle that involves more budgeting,” People magazine staff writer Raja Lewis told ABC News.

In a new interview with People magazine, the reality-TV star talks about her new book, Spelling It Like It Is, and says that after a few financial setbacks, she had to rethink her lifestyle and spending choices, even going as far as choosing to postpone a vasectomy treatment for her husband, Dean McDermott, after realizing they lacked the funds to pay for the procedure.

“It’s no mystery why I have money problems,” Spelling, 40, said. “I grew up beyond anyone’s dreams. I never knew anything else.”

She says her “hard times” began in 2011 when she took a loss selling her $3 million home. Then she was hospitalized while pregnant with her fourth child and couldn’t work.

And then her reality show, Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood, was canceled. Her kids went from designer duds to hand-me-downs.

“We’re all about repurposing,” she told the magazine. “It’s a really good value to have.”

The actress even said she hasn’t bought a purse in more than three years.

“I look back at the girl who shopped at Gucci in my 20s, and I can’t even relate,” Spelling, the daughter of famed TV producer Aaron Spelling, said. “I can’t believe I thought it was important.”

She is also vowing to tone down the family’s once over-the-top birthday parties.

“I can’t afford to live like this anymore. Our circumstances have changed,” Spelling said.

But that isn’t stopping Spelling, who says she’s more focused than ever on her family and is looking forward to the future, which includes a new TV show with her former 90210 co-star Jennie Garth.

Through it all, she says, there’s one person on whom she can count.

“We’ve had lows, but I set goals and keep going,” she said. “I always bank on myself.”/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>/>
