• Fox has given a series order to Mulaney, a multi-camera comedy from Saturday Night Live scribe John Mulaney and his SNL bossman Lorne Michaels. Based loosely on Mulaney’s life, the project — on which NBC passed during pilot season — follows an aspiring comedian (Mulaney) living under the influence of his boss (played by Martin Short, another SNL alum), roommates and neighbors.

• As previously (and excitedly) reported, Bob Newhart is set to reprise his Emmy-winning role as Professor Proton on The Big Bang Theory this season — and now we know when. Newhart will drop by the CBS juggernaut on Thursday, Nov. 7. Bill Nye (Science Guy/recent Dancing With the Stars castoff) also appears in the half hour.

• Erstwhile Bunhead Bailey Buntain will guest-star in an upcoming episode of Baby Daddy, TVGuide.com reports, playing Ben’s vivacious new love interest.

• ABC is developing a talk show hosted by Oscar-winning actress/comedienne Monique (Precious), per The Hollywood Reporter . The syndicated series could bow as soon as September 2014.
