Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images(LOS ANGELES) -- George Lucas, creator of Star Wars, married his longtime girlfriend Mellody Hobson over the weekend.

People reports the couple wed in Marin County, Calif., the same location of Lucas' Skywalker Ranch, on Saturday.

The couple's Hollywood pals sent their congratulations via Twitter./>/>/>

"Let's give a Galactic shout out to Master George Lucas & his bride Melodie on this, their wedding day," Samuel L. Jackson tweeted.

Ron Howard added, "George Lucas Melody Hobson wedding was joy to behold Bill Moyers service was beautiful, nothing short of profound. Congrats Mr&Mrs Lucas."

After dating for seven years, Lucas proposed to Hobson in January.  Hobson, 43, is chairwoman of DreamWorks Animation and president of an investment management firm.  It's her first walk down the aisle and the second marriage for Lucas, 68./>/>/>/>
