Gay Marriage, Border Control: Five Stories You'll Care About in Politics

Jun 22 2013, 6:05am CDT | by

We didn't know that the White House promise of transparency would extend to presidential outerwear, so that Berlin speech wasn't a total loss. We didn't know that Hillary Clinton was paying attention to the PAC set up in her name, though we did suspect that she wanted to see a female president in her lifetime. We did know immigration reform was on the march, though we didn't know it was marching in two different directions, on opposite sides of the Capitol. We definitely don't know who's in charge of the House of Representatives, though we do have some suspects. As for suspected future news, here's a glimpse of some of the stories your ABC News political unit will be tracking in the week ahead:

Sep 21 2014 12:00am CDT | Source: Buddy TV

Here are some questions surrounding the new CBS political drama Madam Secretary: will it be the next Good Wife or Scandal? Or will it end up being the next Commander in Chief, which was cancelled after one season? And the question that I've seen an endless amount of articles speculate and discuss: is the titular character based o ...

Jon Stewart Mocks Joe Scarborough's Hypocritical Take On Hillary Clinton

Sep 17 2014 8:13am CDT | Source: Huffington Post

So is Hillary Clinton running for president? Like most of the 2016 hopefuls, she's dodged the question -- and that had MSNBC's Joe Scarborough calling out the former secretary of state. "If you're gonna run, just say you're gonna run and stop playing games," he demanded. Just one problem: As Jon Stewart revealed on Tuesday night's "Daily Show," Scarborough was playing t ...

Horatio Sanz On 'Saturday Night Live's' Politics: 'We Dropped The Ball' On Going After The Right

Aug 20 2014 12:09pm CDT | Source: Huffington Post

When you look at it today, "Live From New York," Tom Shales' and James Miller's seminal oral history of "Saturday Night Live," is clearly missing one thing: the last decade. Fortunately, that will all change on September 9, when a new edition of the book is released with 200 pages devoted to everything that's happened since its 2003 publication. And at least one for ...

Aug 15 2014 4:24pm CDT | Source: Huffington Post

Frank Underwood is ruthless, especially when it comes to birthday presents. In this "House of Cards" parody, made in honor of former president Bill Clinton's b-day, Underwood, aka Kevin Spacey, and Hillary Clinton discuss what present she should get Bill. Underwood is leaning toward an elephant, but Hillary isn't so easily convinced. In fact, Hills dismisses Underwood's argument so quickly that we feel pretty safe assuming she doesn't have ...

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) further hinted in a Monday interview with Fusion's Jorge Ramos that he would run for president in 2016.
