Burn Notice's 100th episode brings Michael Westen back to Miami and star Jeffrey Donovan back in the director's chair — but the actor originally didn't want to helm the landmark hour. "I actually wanted to do the [Season 7] premiere," Donovan, who previously directed two episodes and the Sam Axe movie prequel, tells TVGuide.com. "Then [creator] Matt Nix and the studio thought it would be a better idea for me to do the 100th episode because it was all about Michael and Fiona's flashback to their past. They thought I might be more attuned to how the dynamic between Mike and Fi would be." As they plot to rescue Fi, the episode reveals how the former couple first met in an Irish bar in 2001 — complete with Irish lilts! "I think the fans are going to love seeing where Michael and Fi came from, where they met, under what circumstances... and how they fell in love," Donovan says. As for whether Michael and Fi will get their happily-ever-after before the drama wraps up its run this year, Donovan can't promise anything — but he does think that fans will be "shocked" by Michael's actions in the series finale. Hottest summer TV eye candy "I think the audiences want Fi and Michael to tie the knot and have little violent babies. They come out with guns," he jokes. "I actually don't even know what's going to happen. Matt could just rewrite the whole thing and be like, 'Puppies, kittens and gun-toting babies!'" Check out our video interview with Donovan below for more on the final season and how he would like to see the show live on. Burn Notice airs Thursdays at 9/8c on USA.
