SHatosy_300Another Southland star has secured a Plan B.

Shawn Hatosy has joined CBS’ drama pilot Reckless, casting further doubt on the future of TNT’s acclaimed cop drama, our sister site Deadline reports.

The project is described as a sultry legal show set in Charleston, South Carolina, where a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a Southern City Attorney (The O.C.‘s Cam Gigandet) struggle to hide their intense attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal.

Hatosy will once again play a law enforcer as bad-boy police detective Trey.

The ensemble also includes Michael Gladis (Mad Men), Georgina Haig (Fringe) and Kim Wayans (In Living Color).

Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight) will direct from a script by Dana Stevens (City Of Angels), who serves as an executive producer alongside Ian Sander and Kim Moses (Ghost Whisperer).

Hatosy’s casting is in second position to Southland, which is currently airing its fifth season. The announcement of his new gig, as well as co-star Ben McKenzie’s casting in the CBS pilot The Advocates , suggests the perpetual bubble show faces an uphill climb to Season 6.
