Alicia Keys gave Beyonce a run for her money when it comes to signing the National Anthem. The “Girl On Fire” singer dug deep into her soul when she belted out the anthem during Super Bowl XLVII on Feb. 3.

The 14-time Grammy Award winner, 32, performed the song on a piano, her signature instrument, gently vocalizing the song. Her gentle rendition was so comforting and perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better performance by Alicia.

Beyonce’s Lip Synching Scandal — Sings A Prerecorded Version Of National Anthem

On Jan. 21, Beyonce sang to the National Anthem during President Barack Obama’s Inauguration, but she received much criticism for lip syncing the anthem. Beyonce, who is set to perform during the Super Bowl halftime show on Feb. 3, finally addressed the lip syncing controversy during a press conference on Jan. 31.

Beyonce, 31, said, “Well, I am a perfectionist. And one thing about it is that I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to practice with the orchestra. Due to the weather, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. I decided to sing along with my recorded track, which is a common practice in the industry. It was one of my proudest moments. I am very proud of my performance.”
