Whether it's from co-workers, kids or spouses, everyone needs some "me time" now and then.

But when Marny (Tempestt Beldsoe) takes some time for herself and goes to the gym on Wednesday's new episode of Guys with Kids (8:30/7:30c on NBC), Gary (Anthony Anderson) is none too pleased.

Photos: Surprisingly sexy TV characters

"But I did it because, you know, because I want to look good for my husband," Marny tells Gary in this exclusive sneak peek. Uh yeah, sorry, Marny, he's not buying what you're selling.

Will Marny convince Gary to loosen up and let her blow off some steam? Watch the exclusive video below. Guys with Kids airs Wednesdays at 8:30/7:30c on NBC.

Black-ish: Reimagining Blackness on Television

Oct 31 2014 6:24pm CDT | Source: Huffington Post

Black-ish, the new ABC sitcom created by Kenya Barris, really is one of the funniest shows on TV this season. I laughed my head off watching a marathon run of the first four episodes on demand. Now it's set to record each week on DVR. One of the things I really appreciate about Black-ish is that it takes universal issues and works them out through a genuinely African-American lens. For example, in the pilot episode the father, Andre "Dre ...

How To Make It As A Black Sitcom: Be Careful How You Talk About Race

Oct 21 2014 11:03am CDT | Source: Huffington Post

Photo illustration by Troy Dunham. Among those who consider such things, it's generally agreed that "The Cosby Show" holds a canonical, almost sacred status in television history. But there's at least one critique it's never been able to shake: The groundbreaking sitcom, which aired from 1984 to 1992, largely sidestepped any discussion of race. Dr. Alvin F. Poussaint, who worked as a script-production consultant on the show, recalls an episode w ...

Will John Cho Be Television's First Asian Romantic Lead?

Sep 25 2014 11:34am CDT | Source: Huffington Post

When I was growing up, Asian American men were virtually absent from television and popular culture. And when they were present -- Bruce Lee or Lieutenant Sulu, for example -- they never got the girl. While Asian faces are better represented today on shows such as The Mentalist, Glee, The Walking Dead and Hawaii Five-0, they are not shown as romantic leads, particularly when it comes to non-Asian women, even though we know that it ...

Black-ish Season 1 Episode 1 Review: Pilot

Sep 24 2014 9:00pm CDT | Source: TV Fanatic

It's kind of appropriate that the Black-ish premiere aired on the first night of Rosh Hashana (the Jewish new year).  It's always hard to judge a show based on the pilot, but Black-ish is an all around funny and enjoyable show that doesn't try too hard to get laughs.  While it's not necessarily "laugh out loud" funny, the more subtle humor shown in Black-ish Season 1 Episode 1 gives ...

Shonda Rhimes, The New York Times And Why We Really Need 'Black-ish'

Sep 23 2014 2:35pm CDT | Source: Huffington Post

It was pretty clever of ABC to get the New York Times to do stealth marketing for the network's promising new comedy, "Black-ish," which premieres Wednesday. Nothing proves the need for a show like "Black-ish" like the recent controversy over Times critic Alessandra Stanley's essay about Shonda Rhimes, the producer behind "Grey's Anatomy," "Scandal" and "How to Get Aw ...

Fall Preview: Meet the Hilarious Black-ish Trio

Sep 10 2014 6:00am CDT | Source: TV Guide

It's a weekday morning on the Black-ish soundstage, and Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross are made up as if they just rolled out of bed: Ross's hair is a crazy mess and Anderson's pajamas are in wrinkled disarray. In other words, they resemble an average, frazzled American couple waking up to a noisy family, ready to face another day at their demanding jobs.
