Who are the funniest people? That's the question Rolling Stone answers in its list of the 50 funniest people around now. From actors to comedians, Twitterers, TV hosts and more, the list was compiled based on the funniest people who are currently active.

Coming in at No. 1 is Louis C.K. A stand-up comedian by trade, C.K. currently stars on FX's Louie. The 45-year-old actor had a banner year in 2012, receiving an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series as well as hosting Saturday Night Live.

Comedy Central's late night duo, Colbert Report's Stephen Colbert and The Daily Show's Jon Stewart, came in at No. 2 and No. 4, respectively. Meanwhile, South Park and Book of Mormon's Trey Parker and Matt Stone capped off the top 5.

Rounding out the top 10: Chris Rock, Girls' Lena Dunham, Bill Hader and Kristen Wigg, also from SNL.
