What to Watch: The Following

On TV this Monday: It’s time to start Following Fox’s new thriller, 90210 moves to 9:00, How I Met Your Mother has a Pretty Little guest star and Mike & Molly trips out on “psychadelic gelato.” As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.

PREVIEW | Bones Video: Pelant’s Latest Attack Hits Close to Home – Will Booth Pull a Dexter?

8 pm The Carrie Diaries (The CW) | Carrie lies to her dad and bails on her sister to spend time with new boyfriend Sebastian; Larissa wants to photograph Carrie’s purse for Interview, and the teen has to scramble to make it work.

8 pm Switched at Birth (ABC Family) | Regina receives disturbing health news, and Kathryn’s comments during a radio interview affect John’s campaign.

8 pm Continuum (Syfy) | Kiera’s cover is blown, making it tough for her to ally herself with the Liber8 terrorists and return to the future. (This girl is having a string of back luck, no?)

8 pm How I Met Your Mother (CBS) | Ted has nothing in common with his younger girlfriend (played by Pretty Little Liars‘ Ashley Benson), but Barney is way too invested in the mismatched duo staying together.

9 pm The Following (Fox) | Series premiere: Kevin Bacon is Ryan Hardy, a former FBI agent called back into action when the serial killer he helped capture (played by Rome‘s James Purefoy) escapes prison and begins a new reign of terror. 9 pm 90210 (The CW) | New time slot premiere: Annie and Vanessa search for Liam after discovering that Ashley wasn’t really his studio-hired bodyguard. British singer-songwriter Rita Ora is the musical guest.

9 pm Being Human (Syfy) | Sally hooks up with an old acquaintance – with deadly consequences. Meanwhile, Josh prepares to propose to Nora.

9:30 pm Mike & Molly (CBS) | Mike’s plans to spoil Molly for her birthday go off track when he eats psychedelic gelato. (Yup, you read that right.)

10 pm Hawaii Five-0 (CBS) | The Governor asks 5-0 to investigate the murder of a prostitute found in a Congressman’s bed; Danny goes to court to see if he will get partial custody of Grace. Stephanie Jacobsen (The Sarah Connor Chronicles), Robbie Jones (One Tree Hill) and Patrick Fischler (Lost) guest-star.

10 pm Deception (NBC) | Edward is “asked” to step down from the family company, and a stranger in Mia’s life causes her to make hasty decisions. John Larroquette (Boston Legal) guest-stars.
