It’s Taylor’s turn to speak! The country cutie took to Twitter to address Michael J. Fox’s diss, when he said, ‘What a way to build a career,’ referring to Taylor writing songs about everyone she dates.

Taylor Swift’s fans were outraged when Michael J. Fox said it’d be a really bad idea for his son, Sam, 23, to date Taylor, also 23, telling her to “back off.” Now, Taylor is finally speaking out about the diss!

“Hey everybody, Michael J. Fox got in touch with me today and we are good,” Taylor told her 23 million Twitter followers. “Thank you for having my back.”

Michael J. Fox Disses Taylor Swift — How It All Started

At the Jan. 13 Golden Globes award ceremony, host Tina Fey hilariously poked fun at Taylor, and told her to “stay away from Michael J. Fox‘s son,” while Michael sat and laughed nervously in the audience.

Michael’s diss to Taylor came when he was at a book party for Ann Leary‘s The Good House on Jan. 16. While there, he admitted his horror at the prospect of Taylor dating his son Sam.

When asked if he would approve of a romance between his son and the country cutie, the Back To The Future actor said, “No. No … Just back off,” to Vulture. “I don’t keep up with it all. But Taylor Swift writes songs about everybody she goes out with, right? What a way to build a career.”

Michael was then asked what he would do if Taylor showed up to a family dinner. “I wouldn’t even know who she was,” he said. But he would probably figure it out when he heard the song she would inevitably write about his son post break up? “Yeah, exactly,” he said. He even went as far as to suggest a name for the song: “‘Sam, You Piece of S**t.’”
