Fresh off NBC’s decision not to move forward with The Munsters revival Mockingbird Lane, Jerry O’Connell will play a lead in How I Met Your Mother executive producer Rob Greenberg‘s untitled CBS comedy pilot.

The former Las Vegas star is the final key player to be cast, reports Deadline. He joins House‘s Kal Penn, Monk‘s Tony Shalhoub and Paranormal Activity 3′s Chris Smith in the half-hour, single-camera sitcom, which follows Smith’s ditched groom character as he moves into a short-term housing complex and makes friends with some older, divorced dudes.

The pilot is expected to begin shooting later this month.

O’Connell also had roles on My Secret Identity, Sliders, Crossing Jordan and The Defenders.
