What to Watch Wednesday: WWE Salutes Troops, X Factor's Final Sing-Off, Chicago Fire and More

On TV this Wednesday: The X Factor finale gets underway, diamonds make it rough for Chicago Firefighters, Top Chef is foiled again, and Joan Collins brings a smidge of Alexis to Happily Divorced. Here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm The X Factor (Fox) | Season finale Part 1: The $5 million recording contract is so close that Fifth Harmony, Tate Stevens and Carly Rose Sonenclar can smell it (or maybe that’s just Mario Lopez’s cologne).

8 pm A Home for the Holidays With Rascal Flatts (CBS) | The country-music group hosts this holiday special featuring inspirational stories about adoption from foster care. Performers include Melissa Etheridge, Matchbox Twenty and Phillip Phillips; the presenter lineup includes Whose Line Is It Anyway?‘s Wayne Brady and The Biggest Loser‘s Jillian Michaels.

9 pm WWE Tribute to the Troops (USA Network) | Kid Rock, Flo Rida and The Muppets join WWE Superstars and Divas in the annual salute to military personnel and their families.

9 pm Miss Universe Pageant  (NBC) | Contestants from more than 80 countries compete in three categories: swimsuit, evening gown and dancing Gangnam Style interview.

9 pm The Hour (BBC America) | Bel and Freddie pitch to expose Cilenti’s vice network and police collusion over an anti-nuclear policy story.

9:30 pm 20/20: The Year With Katie Couric (ABC) | The veteran journalist hosts this ABC News/People collaboration on interviews with newsmakers and celebrities — including “Call Me Maybe” chanteuse Carly Rae Jepsen and Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte — and a recap of the year’s biggest stories.

10:30 pm Happily Divorced (TV Land) | Fran fills in for Peter as an assistant to Dynasty‘s Joan Collins, who guest-stars as herself. But when Fran gets both Joan and Peter fired, she’d better hope there are no lily ponds around.
